Cult Responds To Going Clear With Online Ads

 Thumbnail

After watching Going Clear on Sunday night March 29th at 8 pm on HBO I went online to look at some of the media stories and found an odd thing happened . With about four stories I  went to look at from different sites a Scientology ad appeared in the middle of the page !!!

It was really odd as the stories were on the film !!!! So , a page with a story bashing the cult has a cult ad right on it !!!

I remember many years ago , probably in the 90s , a Sea Org member told me that bad press is ALWAYS GOOD for Scientology as it created a confusion and then the cult says the EXACT OPPOSITE of whatever the press says which creates a confusion - and the cult says to "think for yourself " and gets SOME new public to come in and buy a book or intro service to RESOLVE the confusion .

It seemed odd to me then to think "all bad press was good ", but now I have studied Hubbard's tricks and know he relied on creating confusions to increase suggestibility then taking attention off the confusion with lies as his con for decades . Or finding an already existing confusion and bringing it forward or adding to it and then doing the same .

That is why he took subjects like sex, ethics , OWs, immortality , spirituality etc. - most of us are unsure or conflicted to some degree on those themes and concerned with them -which makes creating interest then anxiety to confuse and control us with much easier .

Here are a few quotes to help make my point :

Quotes from L Ron Hubbard on the Confusion Technique:
[Quote]
Now, if it comes to a pass where it's very important whether or not this person acts or inacts as you wish, in interpersonal relations one of the dirtier tricks is to hang the person up on a maybe and create a confusion. And then create the confusion to the degree that your decision actually is implanted hypnotically.
The way you do this is very simple. When the person advances an argument against your decision, you never confront his argument but confront the premise on which his argument is based. That is the rule. He says, "But my professor always said that water boiled at 212 degrees."
You say, "Your professor of what?"
"My professor of physics."
"What school? How did he know?" Completely off track! You're no longer arguing about whether or not water boils at 212 degrees, but you're arguing about professors. And he will become very annoyed, but he won't know quite what he is annoyed about. You can do this so adroitly and so artfully that you can actually produce a confusion of the depth of hypnosis. The person simply goes down tone scale to a point where they're not sure of their own name.
And at that point you say, "Now, you do agree to go out and draw the water out of the well, don't you?"
"Yes-anything!" And he'll go out and draw the water out of the well.

Also, even earlier, in 1950:
[Quote]
One error, however, must be remarked upon. The examination system employed is not much different from a certain hypnotic technique. One induces a state of confusion in the subject by raising his anxieties of what may happen if he does not pass. One then "teaches" at a mind which is anxious and confused. That mind does not then rationalize, it merely records and makes a pattern. If the pattern is sufficiently strong to be regurgitated verbatim on an examination paper, the student is then given a good grade and passed.

He also knew that when one is confused they can feel relief ( i.e. brighter TEMPORARILY ) when they get an " answer " , even if it doesn't address the confusion!

A confusion can be defined as any set of factors or circumstances which do not seem to have any immediate solution. More broadly, a confusion is random motion.
Until one selects one datum, one factor, one particular in a confusion of particles, the confusion continues. The one thing selected and used becomes the stable datum for the remainder.
“Any body of knowledge, more particularly and exactly, is built from one datum. That is its stable datum. Invalidate it and the entire body of knowledge falls apart. A stable datum does not have to be the correct one. It is simply the one that keeps things from being in a confusion and on which others are aligned.” –  Ron Hubbard [ref]

“Any time anybody gets enough altitude he can be called a hypnotic operator, and what he says will act as hypnotic suggestion. Hypnotism is a difference in levels of altitude…if the operator can heighten his own altitude with regard to the subject…he doesn’t have to put the subject to sleep. What he says will still react as a hypnotic suggestion….With parity, such as occurs between acquaintances, friends, fellow students and so on, there is no hypnotic suggestion” (Education and Dianetics, 11 November 1950, Research and Discovery, volume 4).  Source Jon Atack

Hubbard found a method for inducing cognitive dissonance - a feeling of mental discomfort which can include confusion , reelingness , overwhelm , anxiety , exasperation , panic and uncertainty that occurs when two or more beliefs , emotions or behaviors are are in strong conflict as there is a need for a choice between them or a resolution as to say why I would believe I am good and should never lie but realize I have been lying - that creates discomfort aka dissonance .

I could resolve it a number of ways - ignore and deny  the lying , pretend the target of the lies is not a real person or deserving of the truth , say it is not really lying for some reason etc. ANY of the methods can temporarily lessen the dissonance by simply taking attention off of it . I go from uncomfortable and confused to more comfortable and relaxed.

So , his PR method is to state the exact opposite of his critics and then keep on saying that and have some of the public not know who is right and so become confused and in that confusion via contradiction ( a hypnotic technique that relies on cognitive dissonance creating vulnerability to suggestion in the blankness that accompanies dissonance ) The cult FILLS the blankness or alleviates it by directing attention to a COMMAND - find out for yourself: come in and buy a book or do a course and SEE what Scientology is all about !!!

I have seen Heber Jentsch use exactly this method on the Phil Donahue show and other spokespeople as well - simply say the opposite of the truth and never let up and it brings in some people but far more importantly it confuses and makes mental discomfort in many more . Most of the people who become confused withdraw their attention and remain NEUTRAL in regards to Scientology . Having most people be neutral is vital to any criminal group that wants to remain unopposed as most people will not support crimes - IF they completely understand them without confusion or bias .

This is their tactic - whatever critics or Tony Ortega say if it does not support them in PR they simply LIE and say the opposite with complete certainty - a la Tommy Davis on disconnection and the wives on CNN .

This goes back to Hubbard's study of hypnotism and the Art of War and the Prince ... and a lot of other places .

The cult is trying to confuse as many as possible regarding the film and draw a portion of them in to make new Scientologists !!!
Remember whatever the cult SAYS in response to a critic - usually the opposite is true !!!

This ties into my posts

Propaganda by Reversal of Meaning in Scientology

So , this reflects Hubbard's mind as a malignant narcissist or traumatic narcissist who controlled people with constant lying as his cult does the exact same thing - pretend to be the opposite of what it is and never stop !!!

Aha, I KNEW that he knew this and was using it against us but I had not seen him clearly state it like this before, thanks. He was a dominator enslaver hypnotist.

  3. The thing with Hubbard was he was seeking to INCREASE and MAINTAIN his 'altitude' so he could keep his adherents under hypnotic spell and keep them under his domination. If he were a true healer, he would have been working on reducing his own altitude over them in order to bring them higher to their highest self instead of a "mini Ron". He should have ended up on the bottom with them on top so they could have power of choice over his teachings, but knowingly CHOSE to remain what he here calls a "hypnotic operator". I knew that he knew it. I could see he was doing this, now I know it was on purpose. The fucker.

    1. You are right and many comments Hubbard made about hypnosis and lying and the affirmations make it quite clear he always intended to enslave mankind . In cultic studies Eric Hoffer 's True Believer book lays out what a cult leader is like and also doctor Daniel Shaw's book traumatic narcissism .

I believe among many other mental illnesses Hubbard had the qualities of extreme narcissism and sociopathic tendencies what we call a malignant or traumatic narcissist .
You can read about both types but basically emphasize the worst traits of both and add pathological lying and you have Hubbard.

  5. Hello , I have seen your comments on Facebook and I frequently comment at ESMB and the Underground Bunker as well . Please feel free to read all my stuff if you like and let me know what you think . You can send me a PM on Facebook if you like .
I am often reluctant to go very far with others as I have found many exes cling to at least some of Hubbard's doctrine- even unknowingly and if it is pointed out may say " NO , that is just common sense ' EVEN if I can show them references where Hubbard says the same exact words !!!

Frankly I investigate Scientology and my experience in it using social psychology , rhetoric( including ethos, pathos, logos , and sublime writing and plagiarism of other sources ), hypnotism , cultic studies , logical fallacies , critical thinking and info on cults as being modeled after a highly abusive relationship with a leader or founder who is often both a narcissist and sociopath . Many elements of this method are things Scientologists and exes are unwilling to even learn at any level - let alone integrate into their thinking until it becomes first nature .

Please let me know what you think of both my conclusions ( although they are due to scientific method falsifiable and only hypothesis ) and my methods .
